Phishing on Phacebook ?

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

I came across the following on facebook while doing my monthly catchup on who is who in the zoo. Is it bad design to allow users to inject their own content like this ? In this case is more a case of a litmus test of the awareness of social networking users , in terms of awareness to this.

Is it really this easy, to get people to give up the proverbial crown jewels?

Is it really this easy, to get people to give up the proverbial crown jewels?

I would assume the person in question either has savvy friends who have not fallen for the ploy, or has no friends ;)

Blackhat 2008 Slides

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Michael Boman has made available the slidepack for Blackhat 2008. There are many blackhats as such but THE Blackhat is Blackhat USA held in Vegas in early in August each year. While the official audio and video will be another couple of months off, the slides should keep people interested. BH Europe also has material already available on the archive

Blackat Media’s decision to open up their archives is to be commended.  If I recall correctly, this content has also been available on iTunes fro a while under podcasts.

Charl goes trekking again

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

Charl van der Walt (of Sensepost fame ;) ) is off on another exciting trek in order to raise funds for CNCF.

Last time it was up Kilomanjaro, but this time its across the Gobi Desert.

The core team has come together yet again to take on the Gobi March, along with other competitors from Racing the Planet. On 8th June 2008, me and the team will set off to cover roughly 250 kms in six stages over seven days, all the while carrying their own gear, food and clothing in a backpack.

More details on the adventure in his post at the sensepost blog. If you feeling benevolent sponsorship can be made here. The larger Gobi March information is provided by Racing the planet.

All the best Charl!
